新しい日本橋の景観を創造するためにRenewing the Nihonbashi landscapeすでに整備されているむろまち小路(上)と将来の仲通りのイメージ(VR:下)三井本館と三越本館の桜並木(上)と延伸される江戸桜通りのイメージ(VR:下)01RECENT PROJECTS架橋100年を迎えた国の重要文化財である日本橋が抱える大きな課題の一つに、首都高速道路がある。1964年の東京オリンピック開催の際に、用地取得の必要がない川の上に高速道路が建設されたが、建設後50年を迎えて老朽化も激しい首都高速道路の移設が検討されている。橋の上空を覆う高速道路が撤去されれば、どのような素晴らしい景観が現れるのか、活力ある街並みが創り出せるのではないか、地域の期待は大きい。One of the biggest challenges that the Nihonbashi Bridge, an important Japanese cultural property, currently faces a century after its completion is the presence of the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway. When the Tokyo Olympics were held in 1964, the expressway was constructed over the river since there was no need for any land acquisition. Fifty years on, the expressway is old and relocation is being considered.
