NEW HOUSING TREND光を束ねて闇を創り出す、KDLというコンセプト。大阪府堺市を中心に分譲住宅の提供や不動産コンサルティング、インテリア・コーディネイトまでを手がけるスタイラスが今回提供したのは、全9区画の『クッチーノ・ラ・ヴィータ 府立大学前』。「経年劣化ではなく経年美化を楽しんで、たとえ30年経っても『美しすぎてため息が出る』そんな愛し続けることのできる住宅を創造する」と語るのは、ディレクターの押村知也氏。LDKではなくKDLという住宅の新基準を定め、キッチンを住まいの中心に配置することで、家族の核へと進化させた空間創りを実現している。照明計画においては、闇が光の存在を際立たせるように、豊かな暮らしを創る上で重要な役割を果たす「陰影」のある空間を提案。明るいことが重要視され、床面照度の数値が快適さの測りとされる現代の住宅。しかし陰影が生み出す深い奥行きは、数値で表すことができず、見えすぎないことがその先への想像力を最大限に引き出す。それは日本人が本来持つ、空の色や陽光の移りゆく様を繊細に捕らえることのできる、たおやかなる感受性。押村氏は、その感性を生かすべく、明るさを計画するというよりも「光をコントロールし、闇(陰影)をデザイン」している。CUCINO LA VITA located in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture is a new housing development comprising nine subdivisions designed and developed by STYLUS Inc. The company is engaged in the sales of houses as well as real estate consulting and interior coordination mainly for local communities. “What I envisioned was a house that becomes more beautiful with time rather than just deteriorating with age. I wanted to create a house that remains breathtakingly beautiful so that the owner can keep loving it even after living in it for 30 years,” says Mr. Tomoya Oshimura, director. He established a new design standard for the housing called “KDL.” Unlike LDK (living-dining-kitchen) configurations, KDL allows the kitchen to become the family center by locating it in the middle of the house.For innovative lighting plans, the design emphasizes “shadows” that help bring about a refined living style as dark-ness makes the presence of light more impressive. Modern housing tends to consider a well-lighted room space to be important and regards the value of illuminance on floor as a measure of comfort. Shadows that add more depth cannot be represented by numerical values but will stimulate peoples’ imagination. Educated sensibilities for appreciating the sky’s colors and sunlight are inherent in the Japanese. Aiming to maximize natural Japanese qualities, Mr. Oshimura “controls light to design darkness (shadows)” instead of planning brightness, achieving striking results.
